Tivaevae ta tura = multi-coloured Cook island coverlets.
The garden inspired motifs of these tivaevae are arranged to create symmetrical patterns. The design is enhanced by detailed contrasting embroidery around the edges of the appliqued floral motifs. The mamas spend many ours in fellowship working through the processes to complete a fabulous textile work of art.
