This blanket inspired by the tukutuku panels inside the marae, is just one of the many beautiful Dianne Dudfield blankets we have in stock. This merino blanket is hand dyed and hand worked on a 16 shaft dobby loom exclusively for Pauanesia. The blanket measures 140cm x 186mm and all blankets are gently washed as soon as they come off the loom.
Tukutuku panels are a traditional Māori art form. They are decorative wall panels that were once part of the traditional wall construction used inside meeting houses.
Pauanesia gave Dianne specific colour briefs based on New Zealand landscapes and wildlife which she has worked to perfect, the blanket range is exquisite. Dianne works in her studio at Pio Shores, Waihi Beach looking across the Pacific Ocean to Tuhua (Mayor) Island.
