Aotearoa (Land of the Long White Cloud) has been used in post-colonial times to refer to the whole of New Zealand. However, in pre-colonial times, Māori did not have a commonly-used name for the whole New Zealand archipelago. Until the 20th century, 'Aotearoa' was used to refer to the North Island only.
Perfect to use as a napkin ring, adorn your neck as a pendant, or simply hang on the Christmas tree.
