About Us

For the past 21 years we've celebrated what is special about our country with our own unique goods.
Almost all our products are designed, printed and constructed especially for us. Our inspiration is the
wild coast, the native bush, our stories and passions, and the wairua (spirit) of New Zealand.

Our Focus

Our focus for over 20 years has been to collaborate with local designers, artists, and jewellers along with smallvscale producers and agents to create true and fresh NZ mementos.

We tell the New Zealand story in unique home textiles, merino possum knitted accessories, bags, sarongs, vintage kiwi chaps, jewellery, stationery and more.

Only at Pauanesia

Pauanesia's collection of printed home textiles capture the beauty, the colours, and the spirit of our land - in cushions, tablecloths, tea towels and table runners. Every year a new collection of New Zealand-inspired home
textiles are designed and printed by us in small runs. Four years ago we launched our Merino/Possum collection of scarves, wraps, hand-cosies and throws.

We collaborate with local jewellers, artisans, and ceramic studios to fill Pauanesia with beautiful distinctive items; all with a New Zealand story.

We are open 7 days a week except on public holidays.

Mon 10am - 5pm
Tues-Thurs 9.30am - 6.30pm

Friday           9.30am- 7pm

Sunday         10.30am - 4.30pm

Parking

Come into town and visit us on High Street; we are opposite Freyberg Square. There is Pay & Display parking the length of High Street. For a longer stay we recommend Victoria St Carpark, it's open 7 days.

We are small and special; not a big corporation - so please give us time to make shopping with us a pleasure. Christmas is always frantic and we don’t have huge store rooms, so to avoid disappointment, please give us good notice.
