This is one of the beautiful & unique Dianne Dudfield Rangi (sky) blankets we commissioned to celebrate Matariki this year; it is a privilege to be able to offer her exquisite work. Dianne is regarded as one of New Zealand's foremost textile artists. She is an experienced and skilled colourist, dyer, designer and weaver of fabulous textiles in her home studio. Dianne hand-dyes all her fibre before weaving on her 16 shaft dobby loom.
The blanket is made of a mixed merino and mohair yarn. It is surprisingly light for the cosy warmth it creates. When treasured it will be a heirloom for future generations.
Dianne gently washes the blanket once off the loom: this helps faull the fibres (fluff) and meshes them together.
