An all-over New Zealand fern black print on white cotton canvas tablecloth. The black colour way is bold, striking and easy to match with colourful tablewares.
Kohinga is the Maori word for collection and the Auckland Museums early fern reference collection was the spark for this design. An exclusive Pauanesia design by Kirsty Morison celebrates the ferns in New Zealand native bush in a "Lacey patchwork" design with a woven flax side border.
Early books published in New Zealand on native ferns including Herbert Dobbie's 1880 publication '145 Native Fern varieties of New Zealand', provided the reference for this design. Dobbie used cyanotype to record different fern patterns.
Designed, printed and made in New Zealand.
Details 100% Pre-shrunk cotton canvas.
Screen printed.
Heat-set with good light-fastness.
Nice draping quality.
