Takapu Linen Tea Towel

The Takapu (Australasian Gannets) nest on the near-by islands of Motutara and Oaia off Muriwai on the West Auckland coast. They use the air updrafts to soar high above the sea and spot fish movement and then dive like a falling dart in to the sea to catch unsuspecting fish in their beak.

This limited edition linen tea towel is created from a watercolour painting by our artist friend Emma Lovegrove.

Details
100% linen tea towel printed for us in India.

You might notice tiny little globules of imperfection dotted throughout the linen Tea towel. These are called ‘slubs’, and they’re actually naturally-occurring and the mark of true linen. These are part of linen’s organic appeal, and are a mark of a high quality, authentic fabric. They are not a fabric fault.

Size
75cm high x 50cm wide

Test

Tea Towel Care
Machine washable with mild detergent.

Linen becomes softer and more absorbent after each wash, which is pretty neat. Linen is ideal for tea towels as it absorbs quicker and more moisture than cotton. Wash linen on low temperatures in lukewarm or cold water. Use the gentle machine cycle and a mild detergent to protect the fibres.
